I hate writing the first post on a new blog. It has to be done though so here we go.
I want to share with you something I've been doing at the relatively new news site, digg.com. Digg is a site that follows a format similar to slashdot, but tries to make the readers responsible for front page content. When you read an article you like you "digg" it and it moves up in the list of articles that everyone sees on the front page, based on popularity.
Digg is a fun site for conservatives because, while there seems to be a slight majority of liberals in the reading audience, there are lots of conservatives too and there are constant, daily opportunities for debate. It's actually one of the better sites for debate because, as I say, the balance is almost close. You'll find a lot of like minded comments on articles, and readers can even "digg" or "bury" comments. It's fun.
Most conservative comments get buried and liberal comments get dugg. The last couple of days, however, I've been writing parody posts as if I were liberal and they are all taking the bait! Not one of my comments has been buried, most liberals either "digg" my posts or seem to just pass them over.
Case in point. There's a lot of comments here and you might have trouble finding mine, my name there is jreitsch. You can (F3) search and plug in jreitsch, that should take you there.
I think it was Limbaugh's Paul Shanklin, the guy that does the parody commercials, that recently complained that liberals have gotten SO silly lately that it's hard to parody them anymore. No matter how ridiculous your parody, Pelosi or Reid manage to go you one further.
My posts at digg.com recently and the liberal reaction (apparent approval) to them is a fun and wonderful proof of this fact.
